March 2019 has been a very busy month for The Tin Kitchen!

I published a new blog post almost every day this month. I’ve always wanted to keep up that kind of pace but I’ve never been able to before. I’m getting a lot better about scheduling posts ahead of time so that I’m still consistently posting even if I’m busy with life for a few days straight.

My favorite post I published this month: My unashamed dragging review of the Five Feet Apart movie, which is a complete counterpoint to TFIOS in theme and message.

Favorite book I read this month: Sadie by Courtney Summers. I trusted the hype and went for the audiobook, which was the right call. It blew me away. I’ll be posting a review soon.

Reviews Posted in March

I’m working through a backlog of read titles that need reviews, so I posted seventeen reviews in March. Ooof.

I reviewed at least one book for every star rating this month. (I don’t do partial stars; you can find my rating system here.) My lowest rated title was Vox, and my most glowing review was probably Little Fires Everywhere, though I did have five different five-star reviews this month.

Writing Update

Friends, I am officially an #amquerying person! It’s almost as terrible as everyone said.

I got a little boost participating in the #PitMad Twitter pitch thingy, which was a lot of fun and even got me three bites from people interested in my manuscript. So far, I’ve sent six queries and gotten three form rejections. I’ll be sending out another small round in April.

Everyone says the best thing to do while querying is to work on a new project, so I’ll be taking on the April Camp Nano. I’m hoping to get a full 60k draft of a Middle Grade that I’ve been planning for a while.
